The Numismatic Collection consists of various means of payment that have been used in Istria in different historical periods. These are primarily hammered and paper money, but also various forms of securities and auxiliary means of payment such as certificates, bonds and scrip. 19th and 20th century currencies are very well represented in the collection as well as numismatic material from the Habsburg Monarchy and the Venetian Republic.
