The holdings of the collection may be viewed upon prior announcement to the Museum on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12.00 - 14.30.

The collection contains flags of different provenances dating from the 17th to the 20th century.

The collection contains historical military flags, flags of political parties, flags of professional, civic and political associations, flags of conflicting parties in the Second World War (Partisan, German and Italian, Republic of Salò); as well as Yugoslav and Croatian national flags.

The Austro-Hungarian maritime flags and international code of signals pennants represent a significant portion of the collection. This collection’s special value lies in its examples of the Austrian Lloyd flags, Austro-Hungarian Navy flags and the wartime maritime flags of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, the Kingdom of Italy and the German Empire, countries that once had their military bases in southern Istria.
